校園冰敷袋改良對照護及環保效益之行動研究

An action research: modification of a homemade ice pack

動機：冰敷是學校健康中心常見的護理行為。新竹市的中小學，普遍使用冰塊加上塑膠夾鏈袋製成冰敷袋處理運動傷害後的急性疼痛，有較不環保且不適用的限制。本研究想探討改進自製冰敷袋在照護及環保上的效益和價值。目的：使研發出的冰敷袋具有(1)照護效果；(2)符合環保與安全效益價值。方法：本行動研究由某小學校護的經驗出發，在護理的基礎上，輔以科學的研究，再經由新竹市學校護理人員共學過程為方法。結果：在校園中研發、改良材料的冰敷袋，達成冰敷照護及環保效益最大的成果。結論：身為學校護理人員，除提供孩童的健康照護外，更期望在照護上創新，落實最佳護理品質。改良冰敷袋的使用，改善了傳統冰敷袋的缺點，使垃圾減量、冰敷功能更完善，證實其能兼具環保與實用的價值。

Background: Cold Compression Therapy is used to reduce pain and swelling from sports or activity injuries. This treatment is the most common used in the health center in elementary and junior high schools. Normally the zipper bag is filled with ice cubes as an instant cold pack, but the bag is not environmentally friendly and inappropriate for Cold Compression Therapy. This study is to examine the effectiveness and benefit of the homemade ice pack in nursing care and environmental impact. Purpose: The purposes of the homemade ice pack are improving effectiveness of care, environmentally friendly and afety. Method: This action research is used and based on experience from an elementary-school nurse. The concept is support by scientific research. Result: The homemade ice pack is modified and the material is improved to be environmentally friendly. Such modification has not only been beneficial to the environment but has improved cost efficient in nursing care. Conclusion: School nurses not only provide better health care for students, but also increase the quality of care. The modifying homemade ice pack reduces the disadvantages of the traditional ice bag. The homemade ice pack is reusable and this may reduce environmental waste. The value of the homemade ice pack confirms environmentally friendliness and practicality.
