Most of the learning disabled have their major handicap in reading comprehension. Reading, as the foundation of all academic subjects, is the most important for school learning. Practice is essential for reading development, and computer is the powerful tool for providing necessary and thorough practice. The teachers' limited time will be save, thus CAI is worthy to be advocated. The article reviews the related literature of 'reading disability and CAI' and proposes several points for designing CAI for the reading disabled in the end. This whole article comprises of four parts: (1)The inner biological factors and external environmental factors related to reading disability. (2)The phases of reading development and reading disability related to each phase. (3)The effects of several CAI's for helping the reading disabled. (4)Based on the above discussion, nine points for designing the CAI for reading disabled are proposed. |
