Self-conscious emotions play major roles in human social behaviors. These emotions are a type of self-involvement in a higher level. They associate with the increase or decrease of positive or negative self-consciousness. This article addresses the concepts of self-conscious emotions and theoretical models from previous research on self-conscious emotions and physical activities. Through the discussion of the impacts of self-conscious emotions on people's physical activity or exercise participation, recommendations for future research on exercise and fitness are consequently made. |
