Running can be used to improve health-related physical fitness. Unfortunately, the risk of running-induced injury to the lower extremity is high, particularly the knee joint. Therefore, there is a noun named runner's knee. If this problem can be solved, health benefits of running can be elevated. Running is a multi-joint, multi-segment complex motor skill. Previous studies indicated that the interaction between lower extremities joint actions inadequate often accompanies injuries. For this reason, in recent years several biomechanical studies have investigated the risk and reason of lower extremity injury by using the dynamical system theory to get more information about running injuries. Hence, this text will introduce the method of relative phase angle analysis in dynamical systems theory that applied to the investigation of lower extremity injuries in running activity, and take reviews of relative research in recent years. |
