This article argues that it is time to go beyond the methodology and methods because current sport research of Taiwan's students is not comprehensive enough while they cannot justify their research process clearly. This article therefore delves into classic ontological and epistemological assumptions in the first section. Then by providing the relationship between ontology, epistemology, and methodology, we try to move from a meta-level concept to an empirical research design. This article ends with three paradigms: positivism, interpretivism and critical realism for readers to work through the ways in which philosophical consideration can be practiced in sport research. |
