This reviewed paper provides an update of the evidence on the functional and physiological effects of various exercise intervention strategies for balance and fall prevention among older people. There is clear evidence that a supervised exercise training program of strength and balance exercise, as prescribed by a trained health professional, can enhance their exercise adherence, build up their regular exercise habits, thus, can prevent falls for elderly. The exercise prescription for fall prevention suggested in this paper provides some informational guidelines for the medical and exercise professional. |
