Within adult learning, experiential learning has been a very influential idea in recent years. Therefore, this paper aims to examine the denotation of the experiential learning theory, including the definition, the perspectives and the models. Moreover, the contributors or the foundations of the theory are explored. As an important mechanism in the process of experiential learning, the concept of reflection is discussed, too. Finally, the applications of the experiential learning theory in adult education are analyzed. However, this paper is trying to provide a systematic and comprehensive review of the experiential learning theory for further study. |
