Mediation designs and analysis are pervasive in a variety of applied social science domains. It’s widely recognized that mediation analysis is able to explain the mechanism of phenomenon, and describe the direct and indirect effects. Also, it would examine the causal hypothesis and provide a basis for causal inference. A review of the literature indicated that different mediation analysis strategies have different conditions and limitations. From these reasons, the purpose of this study was used content analysis to review and critique the conduct of mediation analysis in the journal of Sports and Exercise Research, Physical Education Journal, and Bulletin for Sports and Exercise Psychology of Taiwan from 2008-2013. According to the results, authors provide a process framework of mediation analysis for researchers to improv e the application of mediation analysis. |
