The study collected socioeconomic factors and crime rates in Taiwan in the 2000s. By using methods of space exploration, space measurement and spatial regression analysis, trying to control the geographic location on time and spatial heterogeneity factors ,and to understand the the impact of socio-economic background factors on criminal rates, and finally, to identify the real factors which influence the crime rates in Taiwan in the 2000s . The study found that the economic conditions such as unemployment rates, and student–teacher ratio have no significant effect on crime rates. The investments of social structure, social welfare, and policing is the key impact of crime rates . |
