The 12-years basic education is an important educational policy in Taiwan. Taiwan's government will extend compulsory education from 9 to 12 years starting 2014 and increase the education investment in an effort to solve some educational problems and improve its national competitiveness. This educational reform intends to accomplish some educational objectives such as promoting equal educational opportunities, realizing social justice, raising nationals' quality, improving national competitiveness, etc. This study attempts to analyze some probable issues resulting from the 12-years basic education according to the perspective of education economics. We honestly expect to make some valuable contribution to the development of Taiwan's education. |
