This study examined the academic growth trajectories of Taiwanese teenager's academic performance on the 2,939 samples from junior high to senior high school by using Taiwan Education Panel Survey (TEPS) database. Latent growth curve model explored whether the unchangeable factor of parents' social-economic (PSE) status and the changeable factor of parental involvement (PI) and self-regulation learning (SRL) effect on adolescent's academic growth trajectory. The results were as follows: The academic growth trajectories of Taiwanese teenagers appear "Matthew Effect" phenomenon. The junior high school students who had better PI, PSE, & SRL would tend to have better comprehensive analytical ability. Junior high school students with better PI & SRL had better progress on their comprehensive analytical ability in senior high school, except parental involvement. Finally, conclusions and suggestions were proposed for practical applications and future researches. |
