|The ''output'' in foreign language learning is an essential indicator for assessing students' learning status and areas of concern. This article focuses on recent developments in generative AI, such as ChatGPT, and observes how students utilize it for Japanese sentence construction and creating questions for the ''Japanese Affairs'' subject. The results indicate that students' actual use of ChatGPT to complete tasks is limited. However, students generally intend to use generative AI for non-restricted Japanese sentence construction and question creation for the ''Japanese Affairs'' subject. Overall, the decision of whether or not students use ChatGPT is influenced by various factors such as ''satisfaction'', ''social impact'', ''convenience'', ''entertainment value'', and ''popularity''. The level of ''satisfaction'' is further influenced by the expectations of effectiveness and ease of operation. The concerns about ''reliance on ChatGPT'' and ''fear of dependency, laziness, or being replaced by using ChatGPT'' primarily affect the ''expectations of effectiveness''. Therefore, if students recognize and accept the above aspects, ChatGPT will become an unstoppable trend. However, it is essential to remember that AI is merely a tool to support task completion and should not overshadow the development of one's thinking, judgment, and skills. |
