Considering the safety of teachers and students, education of clinical practice taken place in hospitals may be inhibited during COVID-19 pandemic. It is challenging to reintegrate clinical situation into regular on-campus classes. The article described the application of multidimensional teaching method for maternity and infant nursing in on-campus classes. First, we focused on flipped teaching, using student-centered teaching approaches and previewing before each class and discussion. Second, electronic technology-assisted simulation such as equipment operation and neonatal care was applied. Through multiple teaching strategies, including clinical experiences, skill practices, and self-selected reports reading report, students could obtain clinical experiences through practice on campus. This article provides an alternative teaching method for maternity and infant nursing practice that can be adopted on-campus when on-site clinical settings are not available for teaching purpose. |
