This article explored the academic learning achievement of most gifted students in art class with low self-confidence and investigated possible causes. Based on the prior learning experience in high school level art gifted class and both interviews and observations with gifted and talented art class, the author found that problems and difficulties as well as negative stereotypes about the gifted and talented art class. Change teaching methods to reach them more effective and change in higher education admission systems were proposed. Today, inadequate art gifted education system requires examination. When more people tend to be more concerned about gifted and talented children in art, it is hoped that this article could reduce prejudice and remove stereotype about gifted and talented art class. |
