Preschool educators need to interact with each other proactively and perform organizational citizenship behavior spontaneously. This study explored the influence of proactive personality on the organizational citizenship behavior from the aspect of personal characteristics.The mediating effect of the affective friendships on the above relationship was also studied. Preschool educators in 320 public kindergartens in Taoyuan, Hsinchu and Miaoli cities were adopted as research population.746 paired questionnaires were mailed to the preschool educators, and 363 valid paired questionnaires were returned.The valid response rate was 48.65%.The results of this research indicated a significantly positive influence of the proactive personality on the affective friendship and also on the organizational citizenship behavior. A full mediating effect of the affective friendship on the relationship between proactive personality and altruism behavior, one of the organizational citizenship behavior dimensions, was also found. Managerial implications for recruitment of preschool educators and promoting preschool educators’ affective friendship and organizational citizenship behavior were recommended. |
