This case report described the nursing experience of caring for an artificially fertilized pregnant woman during hospitalized tocolysis at the third trimester of pregnancy till labor. The caring period was from December 3, 2012 to January 15, 2013. Data were collected and analyzed by the assessment tool of Gordon’s 11 health functions model. Three main domains on health problems were determined: “anxiety” about fetal health, “acute pain” related to wound, and “ineffective breastfeeding” related to knowledge deficit. The author actively provided care, accompanying, and listening to establish a trust relationship with the patient. The author also provide fetus health related and tocolysis information to reduce anxiety, offered pain relief methods to control pain and the skill and knowledge to succeed in breastfeeding. The individual nursing experience in the article can serve as a reference for others who are caring for artificially fertilized pregnant women. |
