Positive affects (such as pleasure, joy, happiness and satisfaction) may significantly accelerate students' spontaneous learning by presenting a motivational force that has the effect of enhancing competency. For a better comprehension of this positive affect, students from the Department of Japanese Language at T University in north of Taiwan were selected to participate in a survey, with the results being analyzed using the KJ methodology. Nine categories of positive affect were subsequently derived. The questionnaire was composed of 43 questions given to 200 senior students in the Department of Japanese Language. A “Positive Emotion Scale of Japanese Language Learning'' was later established based on the statistic analysis, identifying a correlation between positive affects with positive impacts on Japanese language competency. |
