The purpose of this study is to investigate how Japanese department graduates develop their Japanese career in the business community. The subjects of this study are related to Japanese department graduates who have graduated for more than 5 years from Taiwan's university, have less than 10 years working experiences and make good use of their Japanese ability who do not have any study experiences in Japan. We had the semi-structured interviews with 14 subjects based on 7 quest ions. According to Ground theory approach (GTA), our results show that the interviewees had faced some difficulties not only in Japanese language, but also in interpersonal relationships and lack of knowledge on the job. And they found that there is a gap between the knowledge from the school and the requirements at work, however, in order to take the responsibility and complete the assignments, they have to try to solve the difficulties proactively. Because of this developing process, they gradually have the ability to deal with different difficulties by themselves and have the confidence in the workplace. Result of this time we think that we would give much suggest to university and teachers when they improve their course of study and plan to make the syllabus. |
