The stage of maturity of cultivated mushrooms were defined to 2 cm; 4 cm and 8 cm diameter of pileus of the sporophores. The stage of maturity at which sporophores were picked affected the cropping. The yield of untrimmed sporophores increased with the later stage of maturity but the yield of marketable mushrooms-trimmed and close-veil sporophores decreased. The average weight per sporophors and the weight; length; diameter; thickness of pileus and stipe increased with the stage of maturity, but the number of sporophorse was reduced .It also increased the days of each flush number of flushes. |
