Gifted education has been implemented in Taiwan for forty years. Through thesprout, experimentation and development, current gifted education in Taiwan has beenwell improved both in quantity and quality. Nevertheless, there is a big gap of transitionbetween gifted education at senior high school level and university level, resultingin an interruption of gifted education services at universities. This paper examinedtwo-dimensional structure of programs implementation in other countries: universityprograms for highly talented undergraduate students, and enrichment programs for giftedstudents at senior high school level and under. The author continued to introduce theuniversity programs offering for gifted students in Taiwan and propose future directionof promoting gifted education at universities. |
