Purpose: This study was to investigate the influence of different material gloves and posture of application of force to grip and pinching strength, and the influence of different material gloves to motion time and hitting accuracy as well. Methods: In the experiments, the study was to adopt hand dynamometer, pinchmeter and FS4 contact switch sensors to collect data. The data was analyzed through two-way ANOVA and MANOVA. Results: In the grip force, different postures had significant difference (p= .022); and different material gloves also had significant difference (p= .010). In the pinch, different postures (p= .000) and material gloves (p= .046) had significant difference, and the accuracy of different material gloves also had significant difference (p= .026). However, there was no significant effect in motion time. Synthetic leather gloves provide the optimal grip force, pinch as well as hitting accuracy. Conclusion: The choice of different material gloves has different performance to the fencers; Synthetic leather gloves have the better performance in the grip, pinching strength and accuracy. The study proposes that the best choice of synthetic leather gloves, making the good use of the best seconde and sixte of position of wrist application of force posture pinch strength and grip display will minimize fencers' fatigue of their hands and body and meanwhile assure the good performance of the exercise. |
