Advancements in breast cancer screening and diagnostic techniques have made breast cancer one of the most prevalent cancers and the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death among women inTaiwan. Changhua Christian Hospital established its Breast Cancer Care Team in 1998 and founded the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Center in 2000 with the goal of delivering patient-centered and integrated breast cancer care. The center coordinates multidisciplinary expertise—including breast surgery, pathology, diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, rehabilitation, plastic surgery, and medical oncology—providing patients with comprehensive care in a dedicated and private setting. In 2009, the center became the first hospital in Taiwan to obtain JCT’S Breast Cancer Care Certification, establishing a benchmark for breast cancer care delivery nationally. This paper outlines the center’s interdisciplinary team operations, development of breast cancer care guidelines, patient enrollment procedures, and five quality monitoring indicators, aiming to serve as a reference for other hospitals seeking to promote breast cancer care quality certification.
