This study targets a southern Taiwan based elementary school featuring the concept of calligraphy education. Following the qualitative methodology, the study conducted onsite interviews with four senior teachers experienced in promoting the art of calligraphy, along with the data collection on school conditions, in order to explore the process, strategies, and effectiveness of its implementation on calligraphy education. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were benchmarked against the relevant metrics to utilize the quality education perspective in the analysis. The key findings of the study are set out below: (a) Insufficient funding and facilities for rolling out calligraphy education in the school; (b) The community and parents are not willing to participate in calligraphy activities; (c) The school administration, teachers and students are well coordinated in the teaching of calligraphy; (d) The school has developed a sound education in calligraphy; (e) The school’s implementation of calligraphy education meets the sustainability goals of SDG4. It is hoped that these findings will serve as a reference for the future development of calligraphy education in schools.
