This study aimed to understand the current implementation status of support services for double-aging families, to explore the operational difficulties and the coping measures of the services, and to provide development suggestions for the planning and service implementation. The research method involved collecting data across Taiwan through questionnaires and interviews.
The study found that the resources of existing service systems for double-aging families are not easy to use, the service systems overlap with each other, the service relationship is difficult to establish, and the service process is time-consuming and laborious, among other predicaments. Finally, It is suggested that the government should confirm the orientation and working mode of services for double-aging families; strengthen the service sensitivity of services for such families, and regard services for them as an aging issue; and pay attention to the issue of quality of life in double-aging families, and develop diversified co-aging community services.
