The purpose of this project is to increase the willingness of end-stage renal patients to choose peritoneal dialysis. Peritoneal dialysis brings patient better quality of life in patient and family have adequate self-care ability, medical costs are lower than hemodialysis, and the efficacy is equivalent. According to the investigation, the rate of peritoneal dialysis chosen by our unit is only 9.1%. The reasons for the analysis are as follows: (1) the patient did not receive health education and did not understand the advantages and disadvantages of peritoneal dialysis (2) the lack of immediacy of the dialysis group health education (3) only provides the health education list (4) the physician has no uniform standard on the timing of health education. After the project team formulated the specialty "Operation Guidelines for Dialysis Model Health Education" and organized on-the-job education, additional "End-stage Renal Disease Dialysis Model Group Health Education" sessions, and organized "dialysis simulation workshop", the willingness of patients with end-stage renal disease choosing peritoneal dialysis has increased from 9.1% to 15%, achieving the purpose of this project and providing reference for medical institutions.
