The issue involving conflict between the revitalization of old building and modern regulation is being disengaged recently, as the regulations of Taiwan are commonly the revision of those from the neighboring country, Japan, the study utilizes the tangible cultural asset of Japan, Kyomachiya, as the study subject for probing the clash between its on-going revitalization and the modern laws. In addition to the analyzation of the reservable characteristics of the building through the methods of literature review, expert interview, case analysis and more in accordance to Modern Building Standard Act as basis, Kyoto Cultural Architecture Preservation and Regeneration Act plays as an auxiliary for an in-depth analyzation on the scope of infringement and the practical methods of resolution in the midst of building revitalization.
