This study investigated college students' internet use and the correlation between internet addiction and learning burnout. We used "The Chinese Internet Addiction Disorder Scale" and "The Learning Burnout Scale" as instruments, and a total of 2,492 college students in central Taiwan were our subjects. The main findings were: (1) the two scales' model fit well; (2) college students mainly use the internet at home or in their dormitory room. Most of the students we studied spent 1-4 hours daily on the internet (59.4%), whereas 60.2% of them spent less than 1 hour on studying per day; (3) students who at high risk of being internet addiction show a greater tendency toward internet addiction and learning burnout than the other students; (4) there were significant positive correlations between internet addiction and learning burnout. |
