This present study applied meta-analysis to inquire the correlation between self-concept and life-adjustment of people with disabilities based on 13 studies (k = 15, N = 2,432). The results showed the weighted mean effect size was .70, meaning a significant positive correlation and a large effect size. Besides, weighted mean effect sizes of people with hearing impairments, physical impairments and learning disabilities were .69, .71 and .70, meaning significant positive correlations and large effect sizes. There were still suggestions about practice and future studies indicated in the end of this article. |
