The main purposes of this study were (1) to design the "Linear Thinking and Intuitive Teaching Program" for elementary gifted students; (2) to investigate the effect of teaching on creativity in the elementary gifted students; (3) to understand experimental group's views and feelings of the program on gifted students. The quasi-experiment design was applied to the study. The experimental group was 14 sixth-grade gifted students in an elementary school in Kaohsiung City. The control group was 20 sixth-grade gifted students in another elementary school. The instruments were (1) Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT), (2) Questionnaire on Student Learning. The data collected were analyzed by one-way ANCOVA and qualitative analysis. The main findings were as followed: 1. The Linear Thinking and Intuitive Teaching Program could raise creativity on fluency, originality and flexibility in the elementary gifted students. 2. The Linear Thinking and Intuitive Teaching Program gained the approval of most students in the experimental group. The group enjoyed the program, gave feedback with positive attitude, as well as believed that the program helps their creativity. |
