Electro Fenton is a new generation of energy technology, which combines environmental protection and sewage treatment functions. The cathode electrode of the system needs to possess good electrical conductivity, high specific surface area, corrosion resistance and stability. In this study, SS304 stainless steel with high conductivity was used as substrate. The electrode surface was modified by combining 10:1, 15:1, 20:1 titanium nitride with carbon nanotubes and the system performance of the composite electrode in the electro Fenton program and corrosion resistance were investigated. The experiments included: Cyclic voltammetry, linear sweep voltammetry, Four-point probe, Tafel curve, and the decolorization efficiency measurement. The results showed that the TiN:CNT = 20:1/SS304 electrode had a corrosion potential increase of 5.9 times (338.5 mV) by comparing with the SS304 stainless steel electrode, which indicated the highest anti-corrosion property. Besides, this electrode obtained the highest response current of 11.7 mA and highest electrochemical activity area of 13.35 cm2, and exhibited the highest decolorization rate of 47.02 % simultaneously in electro Fenton system, which enhanced 2.08 times higher. In summary, the titanium nitride composite carbon nanotubes in SS304 stainless steel can effectively improve the electrode corrosion resistance and system efficiency of the electro Fenton fuel cell system; it has potential for applications in the future. |
