The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is significantly transforming core library functions, creating urgent demands for professional skill renewal among practicing librarians. While continuing professional development (CPD) is widely recognized as a key pathway for addressing this challenge, existing frameworks in Taiwan show notable limitations in curriculum design, institutional support, and professional empowerment. Through systematic literature review and analysis of local data, this paper examines the structural challenges facing library CPD in Taiwan, reviews emerging international trends in areas such as microlearning, personalized training, dynamic credentialing, and communities of practice, and proposes recommendations that balance immediacy with local context. |
