The Effects of Mobile Learning in Cancer Survivorship Care: A Systematic Review
I:「internet-based,m-Learning,e-based,e-health,mobile-application、E化、M化、行動學習」;C:「usual care、常規照護」;O:「survivorship care plans,SCPs,effectiveness、癌症存活者照護計畫、成效」等關鍵字,於cochrane、Embase、MEDLINE、PubMed、臺灣博碩士論文、華藝線上圖書館等資料庫檢索2013年至2024年間文獻,依納入及排除條件共計6篇文獻進行分析。
Background: Mobile learning utilizes mobile devices to deliver information in educational contexts, highlighting the convenience, accessibility, and accuracy of portable technologies for barrier-free learning. In cancer survivorship care, researchers have increasingly adopted network-based technologies to provide cancer-related information and promote individualized health management within survivorship care plans (SCPs). However, to date, there has been a lack of systematic reviews (SRs) evaluating the effects of mobile learning interventions among cancer survivors.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted following the PICO framework. The search strategy included the following keywords: P (Population):“cancer,”“tumor,”“cancer survivors”; I (Intervention):“internet-based,”“m-learning,”“e-learning,”“e-health,”“mobile application”; C (Comparison):“usual care”; and O (Outcome):“survivorship care plans,”“SCPs,”“effectiveness.”Electronic databases including Cochrane, Embase, MEDLINE, and PubMed were searched for studies published between 2013 and 2024. Based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, six studies were identified and included in the review.
Results: The six experimental studies reviewed, involving a total of 1,595 cancer survivors, suggested that internetand mobile-based learning interventions may improve physiological outcomes and health behaviors. More than half of participants reported a willingness to continue using mobile learning tools. However, substantial variations in sample size (n = 50-625), follow-up duration (2 weeks-24 months), and participant adherence across studies contributed to inconsistent findings regarding intervention effectiveness.
Conclusions: Findings from this systematic review indicate a lack of standardized approaches to mobile learning within survivorship care plans. Future research should focus on the detailed assessment of mobile learning usage rates, adherence, and effectiveness. To enhance objectivity and user engagement, subsequent studies may also explore subgroup analyses to better understand the differential impacts of mobile learning interventions among cancer survivors.
