This article recounts the author's learning journey in the Mandarin Teaching Program at National Chung Hsing University and reflects on the process of preparing for graduate studies in Mandarin language education. Through coursework, teaching practicum, and interactions with international students, the author gradually developed an understanding of the professional demands and real-world challenges of Mandarin teaching, which helped clarify a future career direction in this field. During graduate school preparation, the author strengthened academic foundations by systematically organizing key subject areas, practicing past examination questions, and reflecting on personal learning experiences. These efforts ultimately led to successful admission to multiple graduate programs in Mandarin teaching. By sharing this experience, the author hopes to offer practical insights and encouragement to readers who are considering a path in Mandarin language education. |
