Objective: The data for pain management is dispersed across various systems, making it time-consuming and cumbersome to review each entry individually. This makes it challenging for managers to promptly identify issues related to nursing staff's pain management practices. To ensure the quality of clinical services and optimize processes, the team has implemented business intelligence software (Power Business Intelligence, Power BI). This integration of big data with real-time updates fosters an innovative and intelligent pain management model, aiming to enhance administrative efficiency. Methods: Constructing pain quality indicators, the team pioneered the implementation of Power BI to establish pain monitoring dashboards, applied across 51 nursing departments. Through the Pain Committee's formulation of standardized quality management processes, we promptly grasp the status of pain care, adjusting and improving pain management plans accordingly. Results: As of April 30, 2023, following practical implementation by nursing department supervisors, data analysis significantly reduced operational time by 99.62%. Within 30 minutes after administration of injectable pain medication, effective pain assessment records reached 86.91%, marking a 54.8% increase in completion rate. Moderate and severe pain indices decreased by 16.6% and 42.8% respectively. Inpatient satisfaction with pain management increased by 15.6%. Conclusion: The integration of pain nursing with Power BI technology, through a data-driven management approach, strengthens managers' real-time monitoring capabilities in pain management. It also promotes collaboration among interdisciplinary care teams, ensuring that patients receive continuous, high-quality care. |
