Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Nursing: Clinical Applications and Future Directions in Hospital Settings

隨著人工智慧（AI）快速發展，其於醫療領域之應用日益廣泛，尤其在護理臨床實務中展現高度潛力。本文探討AI於護理領域之主要應用，包括臨床決策支持系統、病人監測與預警、護理文件與行政自動化、智慧排班、人力管理、智慧護理機器人、健康教育與病人互動，以及影像與傷口評估等面向。AI可透過整合電子病歷、生命徵象與檢驗資料，協助護理人員進行高風險病人辨識、即時異常預警、用藥安全管理與照護流程優化，進而提升工作效率、減輕文書負擔並改善病人安全與照護品質。
本文並以台灣臨床案例為例，說明AI於護理實務之具體應用成果，包括奇美醫院之AI護理助理系統、臺大醫院之生成式AI護理紀錄系統，以及台北榮總之智慧護理與用藥安全設備，顯示AI已由輔助工具逐步轉變為臨床決策支持的重要系統。此外，AI應用亦從醫院場域延伸至在宅醫療與遠距護理，展現全場域照護之發展趨勢。
在AI導入過程中，資訊護理師扮演臨床與科技之間的重要橋梁，具備轉譯照護需求、管理資料品質、驗證系統可行性及促進跨部門整合之關鍵角色。整體而言，AI賦能護理不僅有助於減輕護理人力壓力、提升病人安全與強化臨床決策能力，亦為未來智慧醫療與護理數位轉型的重要發展方向。

With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), its applications in healthcare have expanded significantly, particularly in clinical nursing practice. This article explores the major applications of AI in nursing, including clinical decision support systems, patient monitoring and early warning systems, nursing documentation and administrative automation, intelligent scheduling and workforce management, nursing robots, health education and patient interaction, as well as image-based wound assessment. By integrating electronic health records, vital signs, and laboratory data, AI can assist nurses in identifying high-risk patients, providing real-time alerts for abnormal conditions, improving medication safety, and optimizing care processes. These functions help enhance efficiency, reduce documentation burden, and improve patient safety and quality of care.
This paper also presents clinical cases in Taiwan to illustrate the practical implementation of AI in nursing, including the AI nursing assistant system at Chi Mei Hospital, the generative AI nursing documentation system at National Taiwan University Hospital, and the smart nursing and medication safety technologies at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. These cases demonstrate that AI has gradually evolved from a supportive tool into an essential component of clinical decision support. In addition, AI applications have extended beyond hospitals into home healthcare and tele-nursing, highlighting the trend toward comprehensive, cross-setting care.
During the process of AI integration, nurse informaticists play a crucial role as translators between clinical practice and technology. They contribute to transforming clinical knowledge into structured information, managing data quality, validating system performance, and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration. Overall, AI-enabled nursing not only helps reduce workforce burden, improve patient safety, and strengthen clinical decision-making, but also represents a key direction for the future development of smart healthcare and digital transformation in nursing.
