Batters are one of the most critical elements in baseball. No matter how well a pitcher performs, a team cannot win without scoring runs. Among various performance indicators, swing velocity and batted ball speed are two of the most direct measures of a batter’s effectiveness. This study aimed to investigate how these two key indicators have been trained and enhanced in recent years through a comprehensive review of domestic and international literature. Articles published between 2007 and 2024 were collected from databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Airiti Library. A total of 8 relevant journal articles were included and analyzed to summarize training methods that contribute to improvements in swing velocity and batted ball speed. The findings suggest that both explosive power training and sport-specific training play important roles in enhancing hitting performance. An effective approach involves first developing adequate muscular strength and physical fitness through general strength training, followed by targeted skill-specific training. This sequential strategy not only enhances the effectiveness of training outcomes but also improves athlete safety and reduces the risk of injury. |
