This article aims to assist special education teachers and administrators in re-evaluating the barriers and facilitators that impact parental involvement in special education. Although the Special Education Act in Taiwan ensures parental participation, there still exists a pressing need for effective support strategies that equip parents to engage meaningfully. This article presents a lesson plan for an IEP workshop, grounded in a psychological empowerment framework, and offers practical approaches to empower parents and strengthen parent-teacher partnerships. |
