This article aims to share the practical application of Data-Based Instruction (DBI) in remedial instruction for elementary school students, specifically focusing on improving the learning outcomes of low-achieving students in language subjects. Using a case study of a fifth-grade student, it explores the implementation of the DBI process and analyzes its effectiveness in enhancing reading comprehension abilities and fostering professional growth among novice teachers. DBI utilizes systematic assessments and instructional adjustments to dynamically respond to students' individualized learning needs and improve academic performance. The article further examines the instructional adjustments and professional development of novice teachers during the DBI implementation process and evaluates the feasibility and benefits of DBI through data analysis and instructional feedback. The results reveal that DBI not only effectively supports the learning needs of low-achieving students, but also provides opportunities for novice teachers to accumulate teaching experience, offering significant implications for educational practice. |
