急性缺血性腦中風是急診常見神經重症，須緊急診療。此類病人於急診的治療藥物有alteplase、tirofiban、降血壓藥等。若病人有服用口服抗凝血劑dabigatran，可能需要使用其反轉劑idarucizumab。對疾病治療的認知與對藥物的瞭解、辨識、劑量用法、副作用監測等，皆會對中風病人的療效產生影響，特別是一旦發生藥物疏失事件，可能導致嚴重傷害。臨床上可透過制定標準化流程、資訊設控、教育宣導等策略對用藥安全的警覺予以加強。
