論真、善、美與多、二、一（0）螺旋結構──以辭章章法為例作對應考察

The Representation of Truth, Goodness and Beauty and The “Multiple, Binary and Unitary (zero)” Spiral Structure–Exemplified by the Organization of Writing in Literary Works

「多」、「二」、「一（0）」之螺旋結構，乃先賢探尋宇宙創生、含容萬物的規律，由「有象而無象」，再由「無象而有象」，往復研討所得到的智慧結晶。它如對應於「真」、「善」、「美」來看，則其中「一（0）」為「真」、「二」的規律作用與過程為「善」、「多」為「美」。本文即著眼於此，特地鎖定「真、善、美」與「多」、「二」、「一（0）」螺旋結構，由融合《周易》與《老子》思想為一而特別凸顯「中和」之美的《中庸》作為連結兩者之橋樑，並舉以「多」、「二」、「一（0）」之螺旋結構為基礎之辭章章法為例，作對應考察，以見兩者一而二、二而一的密切關係。

The “multiple, binary, and unitary (zero)” spiral structure is derived from classical philosophy. Our ancestors, while exploring the origin of universe, tried to construe the natural phenomenon as a transition from “physics to metaphysic” and vice versa. They concluded that the spiral structure implied the regularity of nature and also applied to literary creation. The “unitary (zero)” reflects truth. The “binary” corresponds to the function and process of goodness. And the “multiple” unfolds the flourishing beauty. This article, referring to Chinese classics Zhou Yi and Lao Tze, tries to relate the organization of writing to the representation of “truth, goodness and beauty”. The author also highlights the beauty of neutralization as mention in Zhong Yong (The Doctrine of Mean). The “multiple, binary, and unitary (zero)” spiral structure gives us insight into a close and correspondent relation between the organization of writing and the representation of truth, goodness and beauty.
