天命因果在《說岳全傳》中的運用及意義——從故事發展流傳的角度來考察

The Meaning and Application of Heaven's Destiny and Causality in Shuo-Yueh Ch'un-chuan: A View of Considering the Development of the Story

《說岳全傳》中有許多天命和果報的情節，後代論者大都視為「宣揚迷信」，批評因此造成小說藝術的缺陷。然而，若從故事的發展演變來看，則知小說中的這些情節，並非完全出自作者的「虛構」，而是作者從歷代流傳的岳飛故事中，加以彙整「建構」出來。何況，隨著岳飛故事歷代流傳，天命因果的運用非但未衰，反而愈盛，可見其中應有值得探究的深層文化。

There are so many plots about heaven's destiny and causality in Shuo-Yueh Ch'un-chuan. The latter critics regarded these plots as advocating superstition. These criticisms caused the defects of novel art. Considering the development of the story, these plots were constructed from all stories about Yue Fei of all the past dynasties. However, the stories about Yue Fei and the application of heaven's destiny and causality are still spreading. It is thus clear that there will be something about deeper culture worth inquiring.
