再論鄭莊公――補《左傳微》

A Second Thought on The Life of Duke Chuang of Cheng–An Appendix to Expounding Tso Chuan

吳闓生《左傳微》對《左傳》中人、事頗有評論，且不乏創見。唯本人以為其中尚有不足，猶可再論者。故舉鄭莊公若干事，因而微之，以為補述。

Wu Kai-sheng in his Expounding Tso Chuan enriches historiography with a legacy of lively profiles on the figures in Tso Chuan; he also adds to it a new depth of originality。 Praiseworthy though the book seems， I finds it insufficient to be the companion to Tso Chuan。 For instance，the life of Duke Chuang of Cheng (鄭莊公) escape Wu's critical stylus on several occasions。 This article means to explore Duke Chuang's vicissitudes for a useful supplement to Wu's colossal efforts。
