《易經》的宇宙觀可以說是神話宇宙觀的集大成，將語言傳誦的知識經由文字的記錄與定型，確立了人們生命對應自然的智慧與知識體系。《易經》雖然是建立在對天地自然萬象的觀察，追究宇宙運行的原理與法則，但是主要的目的是要將宇宙論轉化成人生自我安頓之道，建立人與自然相互協調的生存求優模式。
《易經》的宇宙觀可以極天地之淵蘊，進而能落實到生命的實踐上，得以盡人事之終始，能透顯著深切的人生感悟與生命感悟，將宇宙之理最後歸之於開創人文與成就人文價值上，提昇與完善社會人生至理想境地。《易經》不只是上古文明精神性觀念的結晶，其抽象性的原理凝聚早期人類特有的靈感思維，可以幫助人們整體性的理解到宇宙的生成規律與萬物的發展模式，在科技發達的現代社會之中，這種精神性的觀念系統不僅不會沒落，反而能以原理與法則的方式，擴展到各種學術領域之中提供新的思維模式。生死學是當代新崛起的學術範疇，除了與高科技的醫學知識相結合外，對生命品質的維護還是要回到超克死亡的精神性文明，此時《易經》仍可提供安身立命的存有本源，從性命的圓滿來貞定生死的內涵。

The cosmology of I Ching could be said to be the concentration and generalization of the mythical cosmology. It firmly established the knowledge which was resounded in languages as the wisdom and architectonic for the human beings to correspond with the Nature with the record and formalization of words. Although I Ching inquired the axioms and the principles of the Universe based on the observation on everything in the Universe, its fundamental aim was to transfer the cosmology into the way for one to settle hiself/herself, and to build up the mode of coordination between the human beings and the Nature.
The cosmology of I Ching could probe into the extreme end of the Universe, and it could be practiced in daily life so as to help the human beings do what they ought to and could do from the cradle to the grave. Besides, the cosmology of I Ching displayed the deep enlightenment toward life, and revealed the principles of the Universe with the value and achievement of humanism. Furthermore, it also boosted and perfected the society into the ideal status. I Ching was the spiritual harvest of the ancient culture. The metaphysical principes, conglomerating the thoughts exclusively belonging to the human beings in the early days, could help the people entirely understand the principles of generation in the Universe and the modes of development in the whole creation. In the modern society with developed technology, the spiritual system would not degenerate, and, contrarily, it provides a new mode of thoughts in various academic fields. thanatology is a new contemporary academic category, integrating high-tech meidcal science with itself. However, the assertion of life quality is still based on the spiritual culture. In the meantime, I Ching can provide the fountainhead of being for one to settle down, and confirm the connotation of life and death with the perfection of life.
