This study surveyed 365 teachers in Taichung City to know their needs and present condition for mental health support services. Results indicate a high demand for counseling, lectures, and workshops, with average scores exceeding the midpoint on a five-point scale. The most sought-after topics were“student counseling”and“self-care,”reflecting the dual challenges teachers face from external student issues and internal emotional stress. Gender analysis revealed that female teachers expressed higher overall needs than male teachers, with preferences for classroom management, career development, and parent-teacher communication. Male teachers showed greater interest in emotional well-being and family-related topics. Additionally, this study conducted a mental health assessment using a 16-item Likert four-point scale. The overall average score was 1.97, which is below the midpoint of 2.5, indicating that teachers generally experience low levels of psychological stress, though signs of fatigue and a need for rest are still present. Based on the survey findings, this study proposes implementation directions for counseling and support services for teachers in Taichung City’s kindergarten, elementary, and high schools. |
