As the ancients said, ''Poetry expresses the will,'' indicating that poetry manifests the inner thoughts of the heart. Since its inception, poetry has been closely intertwined with music, which reveals that poetry serves not only as a reflection of inner emotions but also as a literary form with musical qualities. However, discussions on poetry have often focused on the understanding of word meanings and the resulting imagery, with little attention paid to the beauty of sound and emotion derived from the arrangement of tones and rhythms. Consequently, such analyses may overlook the auditory beauty of poetry and its power to inspire and move the heart. Among the many poems that have survived throughout the ages, Li Bai's ''TSAO-FA-PAI-TI-CHENG'' has been lauded by scholars. What makes this poem so exceptional? This study approaches it from the perspective of recitation to explore the emotional resonance and beauty of sound that touches the heart. |
