After Donald Trump assumed the presidency, his untraditional American-type economic and foreign policies have made global economic relationships and trading activities uncertain. The article analyzes the possible development of the Asia-Pacific regional economic integration in the era of Trump, and previews the global financial market situation and the trend of US financial supervision. The article provides following recommendations. First, the government should continue to go through and review the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) related economic and trading regulations, to master the basic principles of trading with the US. Second, the government should face up to the role of mainland China in the Asia-Pacific regional economic and trade system, to grape opportunities being one of the Asia-Pacific regional economic partners. Third, the government could deepen interaction with member countries through well performing the New Southbound Policy, to tighten economic and trade links with economies in Asia-Pacific area. Fourth, financial supervision should take into account Taiwan's industrial development and innovation trends. |
