The main purpose of this study is to investigate the current teaching situation and the need for in-service training of elementary school Science and Technology teachers in Hsinchu County. The data was collected through qustionaire survey, and was analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA, and Point-biserial correlation analysis. The findings of this study shows the elementary school Science and Technology teachers in Hsinchu County get high confidence on their curriculum knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, and assessment knowledge. And they need in-service training on Astronomy, Atmospheric Science, Geology, Biology, Innovative Teaching, Effective Teaching, Information Technology Integration into Instruction, and Multiple Assessments; in the way of online learning, lectures, and visiting. Finally, suggestions are proposed for the educational administrations of Hsinchu County to plan future in-service training activities. |
