Although both China and Taiwan use Chinese as their official language, political differences, geographical separation and information asymmetry have led to significant variations in language usage over time. In the current information society, the exchange of information between the Cross-Strait is no longer as closed as before. However, the long-term divergence has resulted in noticeable differences in language use among people on cross-strait. Through the internet, we can further understand the differences in cross-strait streaming international news. This study explores the differences in cross-strait streaming international news and analyzes the reasons behind these differences. Based on observations, the most significant differences in cross-strait streaming international news are found in: pronunciation and word choice, the use of idioms, and written. According to these observations, this study analyzes the differences in cross-strait streaming international news. |
