The purpose of this study is to use the data of 3,309 students in the learning status database of junior high school students in Keelung City to explore the growth trajectories of family learning resources and English learning motivation during the five semesters, and analyze the impact of family learning resources and the growth of English learning motivation on English learning achievement. Analysis of the latent growth modeling showed that the growth trajectory of family learning resources for junior high school students showed a linear and stable trend. The growth trajec-tory of students was the highest in the second semester of eighth grade, and gradually decreases as the semester went by. The lowest point is in the first semester of ninth grade. The growth trajectory of English learn-ing motivation of junior high school students showed a linear downward trend, with the highest level in the second semester of seventh grade and the lowest in the first and second semester of ninth grade. The better the home learning resources and English learning motivation of seventh-grade students, the better the English learning achievements of ninth graders; at the same time, the growth of home learning resources and English learning motivation in the fifth semester had an effect on im-proving the English learning achievements of ninth graders. Schools and teachers should provide English learning support programs for children whose families were disadvantaged in learning, and should propose strat-egies to improve English learning motivation in each semester. |
