從地理學跨領域探究文學——以《台北人》小說及其相關研究為例

Literature in the light of Geographical views: A Case Study of “Taipei People” and RelatedWorks

《臺北人》是白先勇的短篇小說集，是一部有關民國50年代以前台北都會人的故事，是一部記述隨國民政府播遷來台人仕的林林總總，《臺北人》小說不僅感概這些前臣遺老的凡塵俗事，更不捨爾等懷鄉念舊的無奈。過去已有許多評論者針對此部小說從文學觀點、歷史價值加以闡釋，但本研究則從跨領域觀點，以地理向度出發，探討小說中所書寫、所記錄的地理景觀與人文景觀，藉以還原《臺北人》過往年代的史蹟構景，且探討與地理時空脈絡的關聯，以及賡續延衍的發展。

“Taipei People” is a novel written by Pai Hsien-Yung, which represents the age of historical culture, regional landscapes and the routines of daily life of people living in Taipei City before 1960s. This study tries to elaborate nostalgic geographical landscapes and human landscapes of that period of time by using a geographical approach to highlight a cross-domain perspective in literature, and re-image the geographical features of historic relics. Furthermore, it illuminates the spatial and temporal connections related with geography and its later development.
